Public sector oil marketing companies today announced marginal Rs273 per kilolitre reduction in the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel.

This is the third reduction in prices of jet fuel effected in the current financial year, beginning April.

Effective midnight tonight, ATF prices in Delhi will go down Rs272.76 per kl (0.4 per cent) to Rs67,046.95 per kl, Indian Oil Corp, announced on behalf of state-run oil companies, which include Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation.

In Mumbai, jet fuel will go up to Rs68,022.08 per kl from tomorrow against Rs68,306.21 per kl at present.

Oil marketing companies had in may reduced ATF prices by Rs311.74 a kl and by Rs169.3 per kl on 16 April.

The combined effect of these reductions, however stands dwarfed by the steep increases effected in March and early April.
