Air India joint MD, V Trivedi, will be master integrator for merged entity

New Delhi: The Government has designated joint managing director, Air India, V Trivedi, as the master integrator who will carry the process of integration of the two airlines forward. Trivedi was former chairman and managing director of domestic major Indian.

Trivedi will head an integration cell, which will assist the chairman and managing director of Air India in advancing the integration process. The cell will also track and monitor the benefits accruing to the new company from the merger. Two executive directors have also been assigned to the cell to assist Trivedi in his work.

The cell will coordinate in the planning of integration activities that are currently the responsibility of strategic business unit heads.

The government had announced that the successful completion of the merger process over a period of 2-3 years could add around Rs1,200 crore to the bottom line of the newly merged entity, mainly through synergies between the operations of the two carriers.
