The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said a hard disk containing important documents related to the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society has gone missing from the Maharashtra Urban Development Department (UDD).

According to CBI sources one of the 10 hard disks containing 'evidences' on Adarsh scam had gone missing and the agency had already informed the special CBI court about it.

The CBI said on Saturday that files containing important documents on the Adarsh scam had gone missing from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) in New Delhi.

"Files which include letters issued by the Environment Ministry to the state government regarding Coastal Regulation Zone norms, and asking the society to approach the appropriate state government department for clearance, have gone missing," a senior CBI official told reporters.

According to the official the ministry said certain documents of which the CBI had sought copies last week were 'untraceable'.

"We have now asked them to give us a complaint in writing after which further course of action would be decided," the official said.
