Rdio, the social music service, created by Janus Friis with Niklas Zennström, who built Skype and Kazaa helps stream more than five million songs from both PC and mobile.

The Rdio digital collection also helps discover and share music with friends.

It offers music from EMI Music, Sony Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group and a number of the leading indie aggregators of digital music, which one can sync to the phone for offline usage.

"Many digital music services have tried to address specific challenges, but no one has managed to elegantly integrate discovery and a high-quality music streaming experience, under one roof," said Janus Friis.

He added, "We think people are ready for the next evolution in music. Rdio gives you unlimited access to all the music, anytime, for the equivalent price of one album download per month."

Rdio's apps for Blackberry and iPhone keep track of the music accessed via PC when connecting through the phone. It also lists the songs one's friends have been listening to.
