The most widely recognised brand in comedy, National Lampoon, Inc, and publisher of the original humour magazine formed in 1971, today announced it has acquired the website BarackObamaJokes.com (www.BarackObamaJokes.com) for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is part of the company's continuing strategy to increase the size and strength of its National Lampoon Humour Network, currently the most trafficked humour sites on the Internet.

The National Lampoon Humour Network is part of the company's growing online media business. The company has built a number of niche, targeted online advertising networks, offering advertisers targeted online distribution platforms to reach their consumers and demographic. National Lampoon currently has two networks in addition to the Humor Network; the Drunk University Network, focused strongly on the college audience; and The Zaz Network, a female focused network of humor and celebrity websites.

''As we continue to grow National Lampoon's presence in the online world and beyond, we are always on the lookout for funny, compelling, and entertaining sites and content,'' said Daniel Laikin, National Lampoon Chief Executive Officer. ''We are very focused on building a profitable comedy focused media company, and should see more acquisitions of websites which match our demographic, strategy, and revenue generating goals.''

BarackObamaJokes.com is an online blog, aggregating political jokes and videos, focusing on our next United States President along with the overall political climate. The focus and content of the site complements both the National Lampoon brand of humor and the overall business strategy.

National Lampoon, has been a dominant force in the US comedy world for almost 40 years, and is currently active in a broad array of media and entertainment segments. These include feature films, television programming, online and interactive entertainment, home video, audio, and book publishing. The company also owns interests in all major National Lampoon properties, including National Lampoon's Animal House, the National Lampoon Vacation series and National Lampoon's Van Wilder.

National Lampoon reaches nearly one in four of all 18- to 24-year-old college students in America today. The Company has three core operating divisions: National Lampoon Films, which includes production along with theatrical and video distribution of feature films; College Marketing Division; and National Lampoon Networks, providing humor content through a number of platforms. These include its National Lampoon College TV network, the National Lampoon Humour Network -- the most trafficked humor sites on the web, Toga TV.com -- the company's broadband channel, the Drunk University Network, and the National Lampoon Video Network, which includes channels on YouTube, AOL, Yahoo, Joost, and a number of digital video platforms across the Internet. These are all anchored by the award-winning comedy website www.nationallampoon.com.
