Lighting up the bedroom

Bedroom is a place to unwind and relax. But with space constraints, it can also be your reading room. Hence the lighting for bedrooms should be flexible. Always make sure to have table lamps near your bedside. This helps you during emergencies and can also be used for reading purposes.  Generally avoid dark lights in the bedroom as it can create a dull atmosphere instead of a relaxed one. Choose shades that will have a warm effect. Dimmers are apt for bedrooms as they can alter the mood of the room according to your requirements. Downlighters can be lined up directing towards the wardrobe or closet for more visibility.

Lights that your kitchen needs

Kitchens demand good and practical lighting. A good ceiling lamp is once again a must in the kitchen. There can be a line of downlighters illuminating the shelves and cabinets which makes it easier to find the things you are searching for. In case of using coloured lights, the same scheme of colour should be maintained throughout the kitchen.

Bathroom lights

Bath lighting can have a lot of decorative fixtures varying in colours, styles and materials. Fixtures are available in different metal finishes like brass and chrome. Most common ones are made of polished steel glass. Normal ceiling lights in bathrooms may cast shadows and make it difficult for you to shave or groom yourself in front of the mirror.  Hence, we can have lights on both the sides of the mirror. Choosing white lights will help create an earthy shade in the bathroom.

Artificial lighting has to be done very cautiously. Care has to be taken to ensure that the lighting doesn’t go overboard. Too many lights can ruin the feel of the interiors and may be hard on your pockets.  Mixing up two different shades of lights is also a complete no-no. Different shades of lighting colliding with one another may create a very unpleasant output with an undesired shade of light flowing across the room. Lighting the interiors of the home should ensure that there is enough room for the natural light to set in. Natural light brings warmth to the interiors and makes it look all the more inviting.
