Mohan appointed Oriental Insurance CMD

New Delhi:
The central government has appointed United India Insurance general manager S L Mohan as chairman and managing director of the Delhi-based Oriental Insurance Company.

He takes charge today. He will hold the post until superannuation on 28 February 2005, according to an order issued on Wednesday.

His appointment comes over six months after the last fulltime CMD, B D Banerjee, retired in November last year.

The post has since been in the concurrent charge of joint secretary (insurance and banking) Ajit M Sharan.
