FIIs net sellers in equities at Rs373.4 crore

Mumbai: The foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded net sales of Rs373.4 crore in equities for the trading week ended January 14, while mutual funds (MFs) were net purchasers at Rs260.63 crore.

The foreign funds were net buyers at Rs355.9 crore in the debt market for the period under review, according to data from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The mutual funds were also net buyers in the debt market at Rs245.8 crore.
Overseas funds were net sellers in equities on all five trading days of the week. MFs were net purchasers in equity market on all trading days.

During the week under review, the Sensex shed 246.64 points to close at 6173.82 points.
