Mumbai: Standard Chartered group regional general manager(India and Nepal) Jaspal Bindra has been appointed as member to the executive committee of Standard Chartered Plc with immediate effect. The executive committee, formed in November 2001, is accountable for evolving the groups strategic agenda.

Group chief executive officer, Mervyn Davies, is the chairman of the executive committee and its members include four group executive directors and 10 other senior employees besides Bindra, a press release said. "I am delighted to be a part of the executive committee and look forward to making a contribution to it," Bindra said.
