card

Kochi:
IDBI
Bank, one of India's leading new-generation private sector
banks, has tied up with Visa International to launch a
prepaid gift card with an eye on cash-rich non-resident
Keralites.
IDBI
Bank manager A S Varughese says the card, which will also
be available to resident Indians, could well be the best
gift that a non-resident Keralite could hand over to friends
or relatives in India.
"The
validity is for one year and the maximum limit is Rs 20,000.
This is a convenient alternative to gift vouchers and
gift certificates presently available in the market,"
adds Varughese.
The
prepaid gift card can be used more than once at various
merchant establishments where the Visa International card
is accepted. "The first response to this has been
excellent and this is a card that could well be useful
for both resident and the non-resident Keralites,"
says Varughese.
Says
Visa International country manager (South Asia) Santanu
Mukherjee: "The IDBI Bank Visa gift card is a perfect
payment tool and we are delighted to be partnering with
IDBI Bank in the offering of such an innovative product."
