UK-headquartered
global financial services group HSBC is backing a $100
million initiative to tackle climate change. The group
will join charities and environmental groups to try to
address some of the global causes and effects of climate
change.
The
five-year partnership will focus on protecting the world''s
most important rivers and identifying how cities can
respond to environmental threats.
HSBC
said it would create "a green taskforce",
ensuring climate awareness was central to its own business.
