Mumbai: HSBC has launched its Extra Mile Business Banking (EMBB) service to bring additional value-added services aimed at offering additional banking convenience to small- and medium-enterprise (SME) customers.

Says HSBC country head (corporate and institutional banking) Pranam Wahi: "Two years ago we had decided that a focus area in our strategy would be the SME initiative. EMBB is the answer from the corporate banking side and is akin to personal banking. We have an exclusive pool of SME clients spread across our 30 branches." Wahi says there is a plethora of options and a lot of parallel products like cash management and trade services. "It will be a liability-led strategy for us."
