Citibank launches Go Athens Olympic card

Mumbai: Citibank has launched a limited edition of its Olympic card branded the Go Athens! card in association with Visa. Cardholders, who opt for this card before 15th July, 2004, can enter a slogan contest which gives them an opportunity to win the grand sweepstake prize — a fully paid four-day package to Athens including tickets to watch some of the Olympic events live.

The Citibank Visa 2004 Olympic Card is the first of its kind in India. Visa is an official sponsor of the 2004 Olympics being hosted in August, in Athens, Greece and is also the exclusive payment card and official payment service.

Customers will also get a commemorative gift — an exclusive Olympic games wallet — designed specially for them. The card also provides customers exciting offers at restaurants and retail outlets as well as offers from Citibank's feature partners like Reebok.

Announcing the launch of the Citibank Visa 2004 Olympic card, T R Ramachandran, business manager cards, Citibank India said, "We are delighted to launch this exclusive, limited edition card for the 2004 Olympics. This launch is a part of our continuous efforts to generate excitement and provide value to customers by getting them closer to the action, wherever it happens."

Santanu Mukherjee, country manager South Asia, Visa International said he was delighted to partner with Citibank in extending Visa's association with the Athens 2004 Olympic Games to Citibank cardholders.
