Bank of Baroda organises credit camp for Gujarat farmers

Bank of Baroda dispensed Rs126 crore in credit to over 5,000 farmers at Mansa, near Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

A C Mahajan, executive director, Bank of Baroda, presented sanction letters to the farmers. Addressing a press conference, he stated that the bank has been organising series of farm credit dispensation functions at village level with a view to making available to the farming community timely and adequate farm credit at their doorsteps, since the announcement of the policy package on agriculture credit'' by the centre. The major activities for which the loans were sanctioned are production loans to farmers, micro irrigation systems, tractors, mini dairy units, rural internet kiosks, rural and cottage industries, cotton ginning and pressing units and other agro-processing units.
