Maharashtra government has proposed the development of three extensions to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) that would link Mumbai further to Bangalore, Nagpur and the Konkan.

Mumbai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor will be on the lines of Delhi-Mumbai Corridor (DMIC) and the government is seeking a partner country for investment support as in the case of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridoor, which is backed by Japan.

The other two subsidiary corridors are the Mumbai-Nashik-Aurangabad-Amravati-Nagpur and Mumbai-Konkan corridors.

All three would be developed on a public-private partnership (PPP) model, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said on the sidelines of the Maharashtra Industry Summit in Mumbai on Friday.

Chavan said the Mumbai-Bangalore corridor would cover Pune, Satara and Kolhapur in the state.

He said the Mumbai-Bangalore corridor is on the lines of the proposed Delhi-Kolkata and Chennai-Bangalore corridors. ''An announcement will be made in the next 10 days," he added.
