Vodafone India on Monday unveiled a new international roaming pack, called Vodafone i-Roam FREE. The pack offers "home-like tariffs while roaming in 47 countries", with free unlimited calls and high-speed data in the US, the UAE, and Singapore. In other countries, users will get incoming calls free, while data will be charged at Re1 per MB and outgoing calls at Re1 per minute.

The Vodafone i-Roam FREE pack is available in four denominations. A Rs500 pack is valid for 24 hours, a Rs2,500 pack is valid for 7 days, a Rs3,500 pack is valid for 10 days, and a Rs5,000 pack is valid for 30 days. The company adds that travellers with frequently changing itineraries can avail of a flexible option that lets them activate the pack once, and automatically get the benefits when they travel to any of 47 countries at Rs500 for every 24-hour window.

Speaking on the launch, Sandeep Kataria, director - commercial, Vodafone India, said, "This is the first time ever unlimited international roaming proposition and we are very excited to introduce it for our top 3 travel destinations – the USA, Singapore and the UAE. We are making calls and data, both incoming and outgoing, while travelling in these countries completely free."

"This completely eliminates the hassle of changing SIM cards when travelling abroad and customers can now freely use their local number seamlessly without worrying about any bill shocks or expensive charges. They can remain confidently connected on their existing Vodafone number when they travel and be assured the best of voice and data services," Kataria added.
