Japan's Toshiba Corp is targeting $1 billion in revenues from India by 2015 with a range of new products from personal computers to televisions and washing machines, Yuzo Kato, managing director of the company's India unit, said on Tuesday.

"We believe this step will give us a stronger, bolder presence in the Indian market," he said. He did not disclose details about Toshiba's current revenues from India.

Toshiba hopes to garner 15 per cent market share in the notebook PC segment by 2010, from five per cent now, said Sivakumar N, who heads Toshiba India Pvt Ltd's PC division.

In 2007, sales of notebook PCs in India touched 1.8 million units, according to research and advisory services firm IDC India. Hewlett Packard was the market leader, with Lenovo second and Acer occupying third spot.
