Pollution control equipment maker Thermax Ltd said on Thursday that it has bagged a Rs477.77 crore order from a leading conglomerate in Orissa for constructing and commissioning a turnkey captive power plant for a ferro alloy unit in the state. However, it did not specify the name of the contracting company.

Thermax will provide two boilers using CFBC (circulating fluidised bed combustion) technology for the two 60 mw power plants. It will also supply the air pollution control, water treatment and effluent treatment systems for the power plant.

Pune-based Thermax says it has pioneered energy generation from coal washery rejects in India, and this order is the latest among several projects commissioned across the country.
