Tata Motors has launched SuperAce Mint, a variant in its small pick-up truck segment which is suited to meet transport requirements both within a city and for the longer, intercity hauls. Tata Motors planned to grow its market share in the small truck segment, the company said in a statement.

Tata Motors has launched SuperAce Mint''Like other members of Ace family, we expect the Tata SuperAce Mint to become an indispensable business partner of millions of entrepreneurs and market load operators across the country,'' Ravi Pisharody, the executive director of commercial vehicles business unit at Tata Motors, said.

The company said, the driver cabin of SuperAce Mint had been developed considering ergonomics and safety. It had standard power steering and blower for safety and driver comfort. The body coloured bumper and wheel caps added to the vehicle style quotient. The seats for the driver and navigator sported adjustable fabric seats with headrests.

In addition to three-point retractable seat belts fitted to both seats in the cabin, the vehicle had side beams for protection in case of collisions. The extended wheel-base measured 2380 mm and enhanced stability even at high speeds and on uneven surfaces.

The SuperAce Mini's front disc brakes and the 254 mm rear drum brakes allowed for higher braking efficiency and longer life of brake lining.

With the launch, Tata Motors hopes to further penetrate into the small pick-up market and to expand its market share.

The Tata SuperAce Mint is equipped with a technically advanced 1.4-litre DiCOR (common rail) BS4 engine, delivering a flat torque over a wide range of engine rpm (1800-3000 rpm) in all gears.

The clutch has a larger diameter and a greater friction area for better clutch performance and life, while the robust chassis formed the backbone of the with a 2.5mm thick long member and a 124mm x 63mm chassis cross section, enabling it to withstand the stress of driving on bad roads and varied loading conditions.

Launched at a starting price of Rs5.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane, Tata SuperAce Mint would be available in blazing red, castle grey, arctic white and meteor silver. The mini truck would be available for sale across the country from today, Tata Motors said.
