Tata Motors sales up 30.63 per cent in December

Tata Motors has posted a 30.63 per cent sales growth in December 2010 at 67,441 units as against 51,627 units sold in the same month in 2009.

In a statement, the company said total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 19,706 units, an increase of 34.48 per cent.

Nano sales stood at 5,784 units, up 60 per cent, while Indica sales were up 40 per cent at 5,923 units.

'Indigo' family sales were up at 5,234 units in December 2010, registering a rise of 3 per cent over the same month in 2009. Sales of 'Sumo' and 'Safari' were up 62 per cent at 2,765 units.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales were up 25.08 per cent at 41,926 units against 33, 519 units in December 2009.

Sales of light commercial vehicles in the month totaled 24,558 units, up 35 per cent over the previous year, while sales of heavy commercial vehicles stood at 17,368 units, which was up 14 per cent.

Exports were up 69.18 per cent to 5,809 units from 3,454 units exported in December 2009.
