Tata's Prima truck range wins design award in South Korea

Tata Motors' Prima truck range has been conferred with a prestigious South Korean award - the `Grand Prize of 2009 Good Design Selection of Korea.'

The Prima truck range was introduced in South Korea by Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company, its wholly owned subsidiary, following its launch in India. 

Besides winning the Grand Prize, the Prima range can now also sport the prestigious `GD' mark, recognised across South Korea as a mark of excellence. 

Good Design Selection, organised by the Korean Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP), is a certification system to recognise excellence in design, functionality, quality and safety. The selection process is jointly administered by South Korea's ministry of knowledge and economy (MKE) and the KIDP.

Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company, with consolidated revenues of Rs70,938.85 crores ($14 billion) in 2008-09. Through subsidiaries and associate companies, Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand and Spain.

It is also the world's fourth largest truck manufacturer and the second largest bus manufacturer. Tata cars, buses and trucks are being marketed in several countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia and South America.
