Symantec Corporation has announced the launch of Norton systemWorks 2000. This latest edition of this utility suite will feature new versions of its component products, improved system performance and increased ease of use through tighter integration.

Norton SystemWorks includes products like Norton Utilities 2000, , Norton CleanSweep 2000 and Norton CrashGuard 2000.

This integrated suite protects against viruses, solves most PC problems, guards against crashes, optimises system performance, keeps programs up-to-date and enables emergency system recovery. Besides this, the software comes with a six month subscription to Norton Web Services, an internet based service for one-button problem solving, self-help information and extended support services. Besides, the LiveAdvisor enables users to receive product tips, service, support, upgrade information and Live Update notifications via the internet.

Joy Ghosh, country manager, Symantec India says, " After listening to our customers in India, we now offer two editions of Norton SystemWorks, the Standard edition which offers great value for money and the Professional edition which includes everything a small business could want from a utility package".

The professional edition features all the products in the standard edition plus , and a bonus pack including Zip-It, Visual Page, Norton Secret Stuff and WinFax basic edition. Norton''s ''snap-in'' Symmetry technology allows all these and future products to work together seamlessly and integrate through a common central console/ interface.

Some if its specific features include-during a virus alert, the system remains in windows mode, reducing system conflict and enabling full use of the mouse with a detailed explanation of appropriate next step responses. Windows hardware diagnostics enables users to check the health of their PC system hard disk, speakers, memory, CE ROM, printer, modem, mouse and other devices.
