Mumbai: Sapient, a leading business consulting and technology services firm that plans, designs, implements and manages information technology to improve business performance for global 2000 clients, plans to enhance its global distributed delivery (GDD) capabilities by expanding its Indian operations to Bangalore. The expansion underscores the success of the company''s hybrid delivery model and addresses the increased demand for Sapient''s services worldwide. The Bangalore facility will complement the company''s existing office in New Delhi.

Jerry A. Greenberg, co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Sapient, said, "We founded Sapient based on a single promise to our clients: to do whatever it takes to deliver the right business results, on time and on budget. Our growth in India is an extension of that promise and a further commitment to deliver the highest business value for our clients through employing a balanced delivery model. GDD has been a critical component of our success, and has enabled us to create jobs in every market we serve," he said.

The launch of the Bangalore office represents the next phase of Sapient''s strategic investment in India, which began in 1999. Through its GDD model, Sapient pioneered an approach to global delivery that leverages geographically distributed teams from the United States, Europe and India to create and deliver mission-critical solutions for clients. The office reflects the strength of Sapient''s core business operations; for the first quarter of 2004, the company reported growth across virtually all of its industry units, services and geographies.

"Our selection of Bangalore is based on the city''s reputation as a growing center of IT expertise with an exceptional pool of talent," said Clayton Locke, managing director of Sapient''s Indian operations. "As with our Gurgaon office, we are committed to providing people with compelling career opportunities as well as the ability to help deliver technology solutions that make a difference to industry-leading organisations around the world. I am confident that our unique value proposition will enable us to continue attracting highly qualified people to join our global team."
