Sun Pharma net profit falls nearly 29 per cent to Rs898 crore

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd today reported a 28.98 per cent fall in its net profit for the financial year ended 31 March 2010, at Rs898.65 crore, against a net profit of Rs1,265.29 crore during the previous financial year ended 31 March 2009.
Total income of the company was down - per cent at Rs2508.91 crore during the year ended 31 March 2010, from Rs3,928.06 crore during the year ended 31 March 2009, audited results of the company showed.
The group has posted a net profit after minority interest of Rs1351.08 crore for the year ended 31 March 2010 compared with Rs1,817.73 crore for the year ended 31 March 2009.
Total income of the group decreased to Rs4194.22 crore during the year ended 31 March 2010 from Rs4,359.14 crore for the year ended 31 March 2009.
