Siemens Gigaset enters into Indian market with the launch of new cordless phones

German telecom equipment maker Gigaset Communications, one of the world's largest manufacturers of cordless telephones under the brand Siemens Gigaset, has entered the Indian market with the launch of new premium cordless phones.

Gigaset Communications GmbH is one of the world's largest manufacturers of cordless phones and the clear market leader in Europe for DECT phones. The company develops, manufactures and distributes high-quality products with a portfolio that includes fixed-network phones, voice over IP devices, software solutions and home media products.

The new Siemens Gigaset phones are said to be more energy-efficient and nearly of half of all households in Germany and one in five in Europe use a Siemens Gigaset cordless.

The Gigasets ECO WDTC technology is claimed to save up to 60 per cent energy. Feature phones, such as the Siemens Gigaset A680/685, C580 and S880 offer the ECO WDCT mode.

At the launch in Mumbai José Costa e Silva, CEO, Gigaset Communications GmbH said, ''Siemens Gigaset has proven that technology is a viable choice for consumers desiring the best sound quality possible from cordless phones. Gigaset's new phones redefine the standards for sound quality, energy-efficiency and home entertainment décor. Hence, we feel that this is a good time to launch our operations in India'' added CEO José Costa e Silva.

The new phones will be available in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata at electronics stores and leading hypermarkets.
