New Delhi: Shell Lubricants has launched its global promotion 'Can you keep up with me?' that will offer motorcycle fans from India the opportunity to travel to the 2010 Malaysian MotoGP race and compete against Ducati's MotoGP World Championship riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden in a virtual race.
Not only will the winners meet and have a chance to compete against the two world champion riders on a MotoGP simulator, they will visit the Sepang MotoGP circuit to watch the qualifying round and the race.
Along with seeing the future world champion on track, the Shell Advance guests will have the opportunity to tour the MotoGP paddock and Ducati Corse garage to see the race team at work.
The winners will begin their experience by travelling to Kuala Lumpur in October 2010 as VIP guests of Shell Advance and Ducati Corse.
While the MotoGP riders warm up for their afternoon session, the Shell Advance prize winners will also be warming up for their big competition on the MotoGP simulator. To participate in the contest, the customers have to SMS "Shell Advance" and send it to 58888. A few participants will get the chance to jet set and go to Malaysia and head for the chequered flag.
"Every race fans talks about what it would be like to take on a world champion and thanks to the close relationship Shell Advance enjoys with Ducati, we can bring fans a little closer," said Donald Anderson, country head, lubricants, Shell India Markets Pvt. Ltd.
"The Ducati Desmosedici GP10 is far too powerful to be left in the hands of amateur riders but this will give the fans a chance to compete against the best - it should be an unforgettable experience as well as good fun," Anderson said.
The grand finale will take place in Mumbai to identify five winners amongst the top 25 dealers / BikeServowners who then will get the chance to visit Moto GP in Sepang. The grand finale would be an apt culmination to the exciting campaign.
Reflecting the spirit of Moto GP and upholding brand essence of Shell Advance, the finale, though welcoming and comforting to the participants, would challenge them to the hilt, and keep them on their toes.
To reach closer to its customers, Shell Lubricants is running a marketing campaign including on-ground activation programs in bike clusters in India. The company has simultaneous trade offers for dealers & franchisees.
The contest is on till 31st of August, 2010 and the winners will be announced in September.
