A local court in Hyderabad today dismissed discharge petitions of nine accused in the multi-crore accounting scam at the erstwhile Satyam Computer Services.

The additional chief metropolitan magistrate (ACCM) court dismissed the discharge petitions filed by all the accused, barring prime accused former company chairman B Ramalinga Raju after hearing arguments of both sides.

The accused had sought discharge from the case claiming they were not involved in any scam. The accused included Ramalinga Raju's brothers Rama Raju and Suryanarayana Raju and former chief financial officer of Satyam Vadlamani Srinivas.

They urged the court not to take up framing of charges against them.

Their petitions were, however, opposed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on grounds that there was sufficient evidence of their involvement in the scam.

The court has, meanwhile, adjourned the hearing on framing of charges to 3 November. All the accused, who were on bail, were also present in the court.
