RIL Q3 net zooms over 28 per cent to Rs5,135 crore

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today reported a 28.1 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter (October-December 2010) of the current financial year at Rs5,136 crore against Rs4,008 crore in the similar quarter of the previous financial year.

RIL's gross refining margin stood at a record $9 per barrel for the quarter.

Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs15.7 during the quarter against Rs12.3 in the similar quarter in the previous year and Rs12.3 in the second quarter of the current financial year.

RIL's turnover rose 6 per cent year-on-year to Rs62,399 crore from Rs58,848 crore in the previous year quarter.
PBDIT was up 23.2 per cent year-on-year at Rs10,286 crore and was up from Rs10,068 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal.

Profit before tax was up 27.4 per cent year-on-year at Rs6,378 against Rs5,007 crore in Q3 of the previous fiscal.

For the nine months ended 31 December 2010, Reliance Industries reported a 29.4 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs14,910 crore ($3.3 billion). Cash profit increased 31.8 per cent to Rs25,731 crore ($5.8 billion). Profit before tax increased 26.2 per cent to Rs18,565 crore ($4.2 billion).
