Punj Lloyd, France's Nuvia tie up for nuclear engineering and support services

PL Engineering, a Punj Lloyd Group company, has entered into a partnership agreement with Nuvia India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Nuvia of France, to offer a full spectrum of design and engineering services in plant, product, infrastructure and nuclear sectors.
The agreement provides for setting up a new joint venture company to deliver quality nuclear engineering and operational support services to the global market. The JV will focus initially on providing services to the growing Indian nuclear sector and will later look at the global market, a company release said today.
"We have over five decades of experience in supporting nuclear power plants and their infrastructure globally. We intend to play our part in India's nuclear expansion programme and are delighted to have entered into a partnership with the Punj Lloyd Group to leverage the existing opportunities in the Indian nuclear sector," Jerome Stubler, chairman, Nuvia Group, said.
Nuvia is committed to establish a significant base in India in collaboration with the Punj Lloyd Group to offer its engineering and technical support services and range of specialist products to the global nuclear market, he said.

This alliance will open new opportunities and ensure a rapid entry into a market that demands high levels of quality and attention to detail, which we are very familiar with in our present areas of operation," added Atul Punj, chairman, Punj Lloyd Group.
PL Engineering hopes to leverage the skill sets and experience in working in highly regulated market sectors such as oil and gas for the emerging nuclear sector.
Nuvia, an old hand in civil nuclear programme, offers independent support services to governments, regulators, power plant operators, and turnkey contractors. With over 1500 staff, Nuvia is a pioneer in construction, engineering, nuclear R&D, design, operations, radiation protection and decommissioning of nuclear plants.
Nuvia has now incorporated a subsidiary in India. Nuvia India Pvt Ltd is based in New Delhi and will have regional offices in Mumbai and Chennai.
