NTPC plans 200 MW wind power project in Kerala

India's largest power producer National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC), today said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Kerala  to develop around 200 MW wind energy-based power projects in the state.

The state-owned power producer wil develop wind power jointly with the state government  on a build, own and operate basis.

Out of total 200 MW, the first 80 MW wind energy projects will be developed on fast track basis at Ramakkalmadu, NTPC said.

Last week NTPC Ltd and the administration of the Andaman and Nicobar islands signed a power purchase agreement along with a land lease agreement for development of 5 MWp SPV project at Port Blair.

Recently, NTPC signed a 12-year term loan agreement for Rs10,000 crore with State Bank of India with 4-year  drawdown for financing the capital expenditure of its projects.
