Mahindra Satyam Q2 net rises 17 per cent to Rs278 crore

Mahindra Satyam today reported a 17-per cent increase in its fiscal second quarter (July-September 2012-13) net profit at Rs278 crore against a Rs235 crore net profit for the comparable quarter of the previous year.

Consolidated revenue for the quarter rose 23 per cent year-on-year to Rs1,938 crore, wile earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was up 73 per cent at Rs417 crore. EBITDA margin was 21.5 per cent.

Earning per share (EPS) during the quarter was Rs2.36 per share.

The company reported total headcount of 36,787 as of 30 September 2012, a net addition of 791 quarter-over-quarter. Employee attrition was also lower at 13.1 per cent in Q2'13 compared to 14.1 per cent in the previous quarter (April-June 2012-13).

Total active clients of the company stood at 363 on a consolidated basis. Cash and cash equivalent stood at Rs3,062 crore as of 30 September 2012.

"Our strong focus on growth and operational efficiencies continue. Our strengths in certain key verticals and competencies combined with increasing client confidence helped us deliver on both revenue growth and operating margins," Vineet Nayyar, chairman of Mahindra Satyam, said.
