Mahindra & Mahindra Q4 net rises 36.4 per cent to Rs570 crore

Utility vehicle and tractor major Mahindra and Mahindra today reported a 36.4 per cent jump in its standalone fiscal fourth quarter net profit at Rs570.3 crore against Rs418.1 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.

Net profit before tax from ordinary activities for the quarter jumped 51 per cent to Rs768.1 crore from Rs508.6 crore in the similar quarter of the previous financial year.

The company's operating margin during the quarter stood at 15.94 per cent.

Gross revenues and other income of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd for the quarter ended 31 March 2010 rose 40.3 per cent to Rs5,806.7 crore from Rs4,139.6 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

For the financial year 2009-10, M&M's after-tax net profit vaulted 150 per cent to Rs2,087.8 crore compared with Rs836.8 crore in the previous year.

Net profit from ordinary activities before tax for the year was up 174 per cent at Rs2,846.8 crore against Rs1,036.5 crore in the previous year.
