L&T receives Rs693-crore order from Indian Oil Corporation

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has awarded Larsen & Toubro Ltd a project order comprising two trains of 300 tonnes per day of sulphur recovery units (EPCC - 5) along with associated facilities such as amine regeneration unit, sour water stripper and tail gas treatment unit for enhanced sulfur recovery of up to 99.9 per cent.

The order, valued at Rs693 crore, is expected to enable Indian Oil to produce low-sulphur clean fuels to meet regulatory requirements.

Indian Oil, which operates one of its biggest refineries located at Koyali on the outskirts at Vadodara in Gujarat plans to set up these sulphur recovery plants as part of its fuel upgradation project

Toyo Engineering India Ltd has been retained by Indian Oil to provide project management consultancy, while Black & Veatch of the US is the process licensor.

This EPC order comprises residual process design, detailed engineering, procurement, supply, transportation, storage, fabrication, inspection, construction, installation, testing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance guarantee test runs for the said project.
