Lenovo introduces IdeaPad U110 in India

Lenovo has introduced its IdeaPad U110 consumer notebook PC  in the Indian computer market. The notebook is part of a new brand that the Chinese computer maker had introduced earlier in March this year, with its IdeaPad notebooks and IdeaCentre desktops complement the ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCentre desktops respectively.

Available in black and red colors, the newly launched laptop computer weighs just 1.05 kgs and is about 18.4mm thick and is avialable at prices starting at Rs98,000.

With an eyecatching 11-inch frame-less LED screen, the IdeaPad U110 was the recipient of three 'best-of-show' awards at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, because o which Lenovo calls the it the ''star'' of its IdeaPad entertainment and stylish notebook series.

Lenovo claims the IdeaPad U110 does not compromise looks for technology or technology for looks. It compares the U110 to a work of art, with a tendril pattern etched into its aluminium lid and patterned vents on its base that remind you of an illuminated manuscript or a fine textile, the company claims. Completing the pretty picture is a unique piano finish on the keyboard, it highlights.

The U1110 has  a 120GB hard drive, up to 3GB memory, Intel Centrino processing technology, a built-in camera, WLAN, Ethernet, and Bluetooth connectivity in select models, an external DVD burner, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating system (OS). It comes with an additional battery that provides up to eight hours of battery life.

Lenovo's 'active protection system' provides durability by temporarily parking the hard drive in case the notebook should fall. With VeriFace face recognition technology, users can log in easily without having to remember passwords. Its Dolby home theatre and multimedia control centre,  is said to deliver superior sound quality.
