L&T's construction division bags orders worth Rs1,585 crore in July-September quarter

Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) construction division has secured orders worth a total Rs1,585 crore for construction of residential projects, factories, office space, hotel etc, including add-on orders from various ongoing projects, in the second quarter of the current financial year.

These include new orders totalling Rs435 crore from leading developers for the construction of residential building projects, and a Rs781-crore order from major clients for construction of hotel, office building and add-on orders from its ongoing airport and commercial building projects, L&T said in a release.

L&T also secured a Rs369-crore order for the construction of factory building projects, including add-on orders.

These orders are in addition to the huge order book position of the company for design and construction of airports, IT parks and commercial and residential space, the company said.

Larsen & Toubro, the $9.8-billion technology, engineering and construction group, has secured orders worth around Rs13,000 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year (July-September 2010).
