Google has been rated the most sought after  employer in the world, followed by Apple and Unilever, professional networking site LinkedIn reported.

Nexxt in line were Microsoft (4th), Facebook (5th), Amazon (6th), Procter & Gamble (7th), GE (8th), Nestle (9th) and PepsiCo (10th).

The 'World's 100 Most InDemand Employers: 2014' was based on billions of interactions from LinkedIn's over 300 million members.

As many as 63 US companies figure in the 'in-demand' list. Also the eight of the top ten most sought after employers in the world are US-based.

No Indian company could make the cut in list dominated by US companies.

The billions of interactions from LinkedIn's over 300 million members formed the basis of  'The 'World's 100 Most InDemand Employers: 2014' report.

A sector-wise analysis revealed technology, telecom and media dominated the list followed by retail and consumer products, and oil and energy.

The survey showed around 15 per cent of the in-demand companies had less than 5,000 employees. For each company, the employee count was based on the number of member profiles on LinkedIn associated with the company.

According to the report, the top three smallest companies by number of employees are Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1,622 employees), Airbnb (1,836) and Netflix (1,906).
