Hummer HX concept vehicle unveiled at Detroit Auto Show

General Motors (GM) unveiled the Hummer HX concept vehicle, at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. While the stylish SUV is more compact than its predecessors, it still manages to maintain the unmistakable Hummer look, as well as its performance.
With lower fuel consumption, and powered with a 3.6L, V6 engine, the concept HX can run either on E85 flex fuel (ethanol) or gasoline.
The concept HX also features a built-in, forward-facing camera that drivers can use to record their off-road excursions, and then replay on the monitor located inside the SUV.
The vehicle does not include a radio; it does contain speakers that enable drivers to plug in their MP3 players or other similar devices.
A convertible body with removable doors, roof panels and fender flares are additional features, which have been incorporated in the concept vehicle.
Interestingly, the HX concept was designed by three designers, fresh out of school. Though it's just a concept and GM has not announced whether it has any production plans for it yet, the HX has impressed viewers and was one of the most popular displays at the auto show.
