Facebook has reportedly added a feature to its Graph Search that allows users to find their older posts.

The social media giant, in a recent extension of its graph search for all its users has allowed them to search for pages, people, music, notes and other features, but did not allow for searching of individual posts.

However, starting today, users would be able to search their posts and those of their friends and followers by punching the desired key words in the search bar, such as 'my posts from last year' or 'posts by X friend', according to news.com.au.

Since everything posted publicly in the past was now searchable, users could now re-customise their privacy settings for additional security.

The feature would make it even easier for users to search the posts and status updates of friends (and other people who left their posts unprotected) months following the introduction of its Graph Search feature.

The new ability to search by topic was showcased in a post on the social giant's ''Newsroom''.

According to the company, the new search features would be rolled out slowly and it could be months before some users saw the advanced functions.

The company had also introduced tagging in recent weeks so users could better categorize their posts, and had started working on deals with media companies to share data about who was ''liking'' their shows and properties (Meanwhile, micro-blogging site Twitter had been cutting similar deals).
