Mumbai: Sensing a good potential for its products and services in India, Emerson Network Power India is planning to increase its employee strength in the country by 35 personnel, or 10 per cent, from its existing 350 employees.

Emerson Network Power is a business of Emerson Electric Company, an American multinational corporation – is a provider of critical infrastructure technologies and life cycle services for information and communications technology systems.

The company, formerly Tata Liebert Ltd, is also planning to make the subcontinent its global outsourcing hub, as telecom and IT-related sectors are expected to flourish in the country.

"The bad power conditions and the country's position as a software hub will also go a long way in strengthening our position here," says C Gene Hayden, vice-president (sales and marketing), Emerson Network Power Asia-Pacific. "The recruitment will be mainly for design and service personnel, and for the sales and marketing force."

On the importance of India for ENP, Hayden says it has "an enviable" technological and engineering expertise, and the company plans to make it the hub for outsourcing and exports, which will help the company offer solutions at "competitive prices" in the global market.

The company is also planning to roll out a succession of uninterrupted power systems (UPS), air-conditioners and search protection devices in the country, he adds.
