New Delhi: Dockers is all set to extend its range of menswear in India. The range includes overnighters, innerwear and footwear as also outerwear and winter wear such as sweaters and jackets.

The company also plans to expand its retail network from the current 10 exclusive outlets to 16 by 2002-end. Of the total 174 million trousers sold in the country, the premium readymade trousers constitute just 12 million.

Dockers focuses mainly on adding functionality than just
covering the body. The company will be developing innovative products such as the recently-launched Mobile pants.

The apparel industry was hit badly by the last budget with a 16-per cent duty hike on readymade apparel. The industry
growth rate declined by nearly 10 per cent owing to the economic downturn and decreasing consumer spends.
