Cherie Tandon Saldanha is Diamond Trading's new marketing head in India

Cherie Tandon SaldanhaMumbai: Diamond Trading Company (DTC), the marketing arm of De Beers, has appointed Cherie Tandon Saldanha as marketing director, India. She will be responsible for all the marketing operations for DTC in India.

Saldanha was previously president (marketing) of the Seagull Group of Companies, specialising in marketing, advertising and business consultancy. Prior to that she was general manager, marketing at both Cadbury Schweppes India and Coca Cola India and has managed a portfolio of key brands throughout her career.

Commenting on her new assignment Cherie said, "I look forward to being part of the DTC team, leveraging my experience, and working towards achieving the common goals set for DTC in India."

DTC is the gem diamond-marketing arm of the De Beers Group of Companies and, as such, supplies approximately 60 per ceeent of rough gem diamonds globally to the world's leading diamantaires. It has a strong team in India comprising Raji Ramaswamy heading the consumer group, Prasad Kapre, the trade team and Devika Gidwani in charge of publicity operations.
