Blue Dart to help DHL connect across the country

Logistics company, DHL Worldwide Express, has announced plans to establish 100 small transportation hubs across India which, it says, will help expand its presence in the country and improve connectivity between non-metro cities.

DHL also said it plans to increase the number of retail points of sale from the current 150 to 1,000 by 2010.

According to DHL Express CEO, Daniel J McHugh, ''we will make significant investments for opening retail points and strengthening ground transportation. With the help of Blue Dart, we should be able to connect across the country.''

DHL Group holds a 81.3 per cent shareholding in Indian cargo carrier, Blue Dart, and has four business units in India including, DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Exel Supply Chain and Blue Dart.
