Colour Chem's profit after tax rises by 65% to Rs 14.97 crore

Mumbai: Colour Chem's profit after tax for the year ended 31 March 2003 has risen by 65 per cent to Rs 14.97 crore as against Rs 9.06 crore in the year 2001-02.

The gross sales for the year increased by 15 per cent to Rs 393.64 crore compared to Rs 342.16 crore in the previous financial year.

After providing Rs 16.97 crore for depreciation and interest, the profit before tax increased by 52 per cent to Rs 21.47 crore, compared to Rs 14.16 crore in the previous year. The export turnover registered a growth of 46 per cent at Rs 110 crore over the last year.

The introduction of new products, sustained efforts to reduce costs and improved efficiencies have contributed to a better performance in 2002-03. The board of directors has recommended a dividend of 60 per cent for the year 2002-03 (previous year: 50 per cent).
