Coal India mines more money in e-marketing

Chennai: Coal India Limited has earned additional revenue of Rs922.50 crore (provisional) last fiscal from e-marketing. The company's gross turnover last fiscal is around Rs34,000 crore.

Out of 332.524 million tonnes (provisional) of coal dispatched by Coal India during the year 2005-06, only 14.70 million tones were through e-marketing. The average price of coal sold through e-marketing during FY 2006 was 23.1 per cent over the floor price and 48.1 per cent over the notified price.

The minister of state for Coal, Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
