Mumbai: Cisco Systems has appointed Amit Sinha Roy as vice president, marketing, for India & SAARC region. Roy takes over from Ranajoy Punja, who moves on to his new role as the VP, Business Development, advanced technologies, Cisco Systems, India & SAARC.

Punja will be heading the technology group responsible for driving and accelerating sales for Cisco''s Advanced Technologies in India and SAARC. Roy brings with him over 16 years of global sales and marketing experience in the Asia Pacific and US. Prior to joining Cisco, Roy was heading various marketing functions at Hewlett Packard (India, APAC & Japan), Syntel (US), Compaq India and HCL India. He holds a MMS degree from BITS, Pilani and also a masters in physics.
