Hyderabad: Blaupunkt, makers of some of the world's finest car audio systems, looks especially keen to impress Indian consumers this year

The brand from Mico has lined up a range of state-of-the-art car multimedia systems. The new range consists of: Blaupunkt InCar Multimedia Systems; San Francisco CD70, in-car MP3 player; Compact Drive MP3; VDP01-MP3; a digitally-operated signal processor with an integrated playback option for MP3 music files; and the Velocity range of amplifiers, speakers and sub-woofers.

Since these are high-tech and high-value products they are going to be sold through select outlets in India. Currently they will be sold in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jammu, Indore, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Blaupunkt InCar Multimedia Systems
The InCar video line of mobile multimedia products include 16:9 and 4:3 TFT LCD monitors with a variety of mounting options, an in-dash DVD player with surround sound processing, a 5/5-channel dedicated signal converter and a TV tuner.

The IVDP-01 in-dash DVD-player is both Dolby Digital (TM) and DTS (TM) compatible for 5.1-channel surround sound. When used in conjunction with the signal-converter the viewer can independently select from up to five different installed sources such as a DVD player, TV tuner, rear camera, video game, or navigation system. The individual headphone output keeps the experience private. The line is flexible and versatile enough for installation in nearly any vehicle. (DVD player: MRP Rs 45,000. San Francisco CD70
Blaupunkt's San Francisco CD70 can deliver automatic frequency-response correction in any car, while masking the negative effects of persistent wind, road, and mechanical noises. (MRP: Rs 34,500)

In-car MP3 player
The Los Angeles MP71 car radio is equipped with a CD drive that can also play the rewritable CD-Rs familiar in PC circles. This means that in addition to conventional audio compact discs, the in-car system is also able to play CDs recorded with MP3 tracks, which can be reproduced quickly and inexpensively. Compact Drive MP3
The new Blaupunkt Compact Drive MP3 record and playback system offers up to 18 hours of music storage on its 1 GB mini hard drive. And that is about the playback length of 15 single CDs / 250 songs. This innovative solution adds MP3 playback capability to Blaupunkt Skyline and Funline series car stereos. (MRP Rs 54,500)

Velocity
The reference of Sound The Velocity includes innovative systems and components in the top segment of the car audio market. Acoustic elegance, impressive design and an excellent finish are the special features of this brand. The sound is the basis, the professional workmanship and the strong presence of the components make for a value-added experience.

The velocity range includes amplifiers, subwoofers, crossovers, speaker systems, the DSP and MP3 players. The pro-components offer total power of 300 to 1,200 watts in four different versions.
