BenQ to target home segment, launches 1200 dpi scanners

Mumbai: BenQ India has launched the 1200 dpi scanner to aggressively target the home segment by wooing customers with the simplicity of technology and ease of use. The company has launched the 4300 U scanner, which is packed with features and positioned on a value-for-money proposition.

The 1200 dpi scanner, apart from the conventional features, also offers its users features of scanning photos and posting it on the Internet, and uploading scans instantly on to the palm or PDA devices compatible with Palm OS.

Says BenQ India managing director Tashi Gelek: “This is an initiative on our part to pioneer the concept of 1200 dpi in the market and make this the norm. We believe in offering the customer cutting-edge technology at an affordable price.”

BenQ also plans to launch three more scanners in the 1200 dpi segment, and make inroads into the market by offering attractive end-user schemes. The company offers a complete range of scanners: 640P (Parallel Port), 4300U (1200 - USB), 5300U, 5000E, 5000U (1200 dpi - USB) and 640BT (1200 dpi - transparency scanners).

BenQ has SES Technologies and Neoteric Informatique as its national distributors and Godrej & Boyce for distribution of projectors. In a step towards refining its current distribution strategy, BenQ is also in the process of identifying key distributors who can specialise in distributing individual product lines.
