Airtel offers free Facebook access to users

Bharti Airtel has announced free Facebook access to its users. 

The telecom major, with a subscriber base of 130 million, and the popular social networking website, Facebook, have entered into a partnership to enable Airtel customers free access to the mobile version of the popular social networking site.

Airtel will not levy any data charges for accessing the facebook's mobile website 'm.facebook.com' till 31 August.

''Working closely with Bharti Airtel is a great opportunity to bring our full mobile experience to their 130 million customers across India,'' said, Henri Moissinac, head of mobile business, Facebook.

The mobile version of Facebook will be available in five languages besides English and Hindi. These include Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam to be made available by 15 July.

First time mobile internet users need to SMS 'FACEBOOK' to 54321, to avail the offer.
