Bajaj launches new Discover model

Bajaj Auto today launched its new Discover model, Discover 125cc, priced at Rs45,500 (ex-showroom price, Delhi).
The new model, equipped with a DTS-I engine, is aimed at customers, who desire to upgrade from 100cc but are averse to take the long jump to a 150cc, the company said.
''Although we are riding high on the success of the Discover 100 and the Discover 150, there is still a significant base of commuters who prefer an optimum combination of mileage and power. The Discover 125 is expected to cater to the unfulfilled need of the above set of commuters,'' said S Sridhar, president, motorcycle business, Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj expects the new Discover model to add to its sales volumes. ''The current Discover volumes stand close to 1.2 lakh units per month and it has already become world's second largest two wheeler brand. With the launch of this model we plan to clock volumes of 1.5 lakh per month for fiscal 2011-12,'' Sridhar said.
Discover 125cc will be launched in a phase-wise manner across the country, the company said.
