Infosys Technologies Ltd is now `Infosys Ltd', after the Registrar of Companies and the ministry of corporate affairs approved the company's proposal. The modification also is intended to reflect the changing profile of the company.
The modification in the name is part of an on-going restructuring of the company started early this year.
The company has also rejiged its board after it inducted veteran banker KV Kamath as its new chairman in April to replace its founder chairman N R Narayana Murthy.
Infosys has since appointed CEO S Gopalakrishnan as the executive co-chairman and promoted COO S D Shibulal as CEO and MD of the company.
It also recently appointed its current chief financial officer V Balakrishnan, senior vice president and member of the executive council B G Srinivas, senior vice president and global head (banking and capital markets) Ashok Vemuri on the board of the company.
The company also appointed Ann Fudge, former chairman and CEO of Young and Rubicam Brands on the board. She is also on the board of GE, Novartis and Unilever.
